Time Flies

Where do I begin, it's been so long! When you're sleep deprived time flies even faster than it already does. Scary! I can not believe it's October 28th. Happy (one day late) Birthday to my sweet little nephew Carter! Nolan is now 4 months old. Savannah is almost 2.5 years old. We've lived in Germany almost 2 years and will be moving home in less than a year. My sister is getting married in one month! Holy moly, can't wait! And we go home for a nice long visit in just about two weeks. Savannah is doing great in her little German preschool program. She goes three days a week in the morning. There are about 8 little children in her class. Mostly everyone speaks German and very little English. It has already been a really good experience. I'm sure Savannah will pick up on the German songs they sing. I think she was trying to sing one song yesterday. Her teachers names are Nya, Danny, and Brita (I believe that's how you spell it). They are all very sweet and very patient with my extremely broken German! Rocky drops her off in the morning and I pick her up. We walk there so I don't have to get in the car hardly ever anymore. This is a blessing! Now that we walk the city almost everyday I'm experiencing more of the German city life. Some good parts like her school is across the street from my favorite organic grocery store. Some tough parts like now it's cold so we have to really bundle up when we walk there. One big bonus for Lilly, she is guaranteed a 45 minute walk in the middle of the day! She seems to be happy about this. I took Savannah to see her first play a few weeks ago. Hansel and Gretel! Her friends came too, Julia and Gus with their Mommy's. The play was all in German but that didn't matter too much she still seemed to enjoy it. She especially liked the strange children's dance party at the end. She got her face painted like a cat. This experience is worthy of it's own blog entry. I will post it with pictures this week. Nolan is doing well. He is flirts with EVERYONE! He is a very happy baby. Only trouble we are having is a few sleep problems. But honestly who isn't at this age! I used to think Savannah woke up a lot at night when she was this age, but Nolan takes the prize on this award. I'm not even going to say how often he wakes up! It is getting better though and last night we got one 5 hour stretch. We celebrate small milestones in this house! :) He is rolling over and wiggling more than ever. He babbles a lot too. He knows his name and will look at you when you say Nolan. He definitely knows who Mommy is and seems to have early separation anxiety! On the other hand he is only with me about 95% of every day so it's understood. I know this time will pass quickly so I'm trying to soak up every bit of his snuggles and smiles. He is a sensitive little man too, just like his Daddy. His lip curls up and gets the sweetest little frown on his face if he is upset. He's strong too, just like his Papa as well. I bet he will give Savannah a run for her money when he becomes mobile. I will get some pictures up in the next few days. Now that I have a free hours in the morning with Savannah at preschool and Nolan napping, I can do a few things. Yah! We are thinking about all our family and friends as this Frankenstorm invades the East Coast. Stay safe and listen to warnings! We love you all! Can't wait to see everyone in a couple weeks!!!!! XOXOXOX

Nolan :)

Hi Everyone-The past couple of months have been quite a ride! I finally have time to share the details. Most importantly our new addition, Nolan James is thriving. Our little turkey weighs 12lbs at one month old. He nurses like a champion and he is doing all the things newborns do best, eat, sleep and poop! :) Savannah immediately fell in love with her little brother. Everyday she tells me at least 30 times she wants to "hold baby". Her nickname for him is "sugar baby". She got this from my Mom who called Nolan, "sugar" while she was here. Savannah added the "baby" part so it is now "sugar baby" or "sugar baby nolan". It is very cute!

Savannah Turns 2!

We kicked off Savannah's birthday weekend on Friday, May 25th with a trip to Domäne Mechtildshausen to see the horses and animals and then have a late breakfast with our one of best buddies Sandie and her son Isaac. Domane is a local farm with a market, bakery, butcher, cafe and restaurant. It is one of our favorite places here. The food at their cafe is unbelievably fresh and since Savannah loves their bacon it was the perfect start to her weekend!

Life Lately

Guten Tag! :)

Life lately has been full of activities and preparations for our little man's arrival in June. I have been studying German on Wednesday evenings. Rocky has been busy with work on several projects. And little Miss Savannah has been involved in music classes and swim classes. German is going good, I've learned a few key phrases. I can now order meat at the butcher in German! Savannah is starting to really enjoy her music class. It's all in German so it helps me learn as well. Swimming classes started last week. She was hesitate of the water at first but then warmed up and enjoyed herself. We are going to keep her enrolled in the courses until she is a full blown swimmer. She has a water safety card where the instructors check off her accomplishments as she hits them. It is great! Rocky will be doing this class with her every week so they will have the bonding time.

London

Hello to all! The trip to London began with a flight delay into Heathrow Airport. We flew Lufthansa and they were great despite the delay. I really like this airline. Everyone is always very nice especially to children and it's very clean. There was lots of fog in London so that gave us the three hour delay. We've heard flying into Heathrow is always trouble so we were prepared for a delay, no biggies though because this was the only minor bump in the road on our 5 day trip.

We are back!

Hi Everyone! I'm FINALLY getting back to my blog...very sorry for the months and months of no blogging. Between being pregnant, the holidays, my trip back the States, and Linda's visit life has been busy busy busy, all in a very good way. Time is flying and Savannah's new little BROTHER will be here about 3 months! I'm feeling great and the baby is growing strong. Savannah has turned into a full blown 2 year old even though she won't be two for a few months! Everything is "MINE" and she is chatting up a storm! Her little voice is so sweet, it melts my heart with every new word she says.
