Mediterranean Cruise

Hi Everyone! Here are the pictures from our Eastern Mediterranean cruise all aboard Royal Caribbean International Mariner of the Seas ship. We had a great time and made many memories. We learned about lots of different cultures, especially on our cruise ship. It was really cool to see so many different ethnicity's on our ship. The Italians were loud and very proud! The British were really nice and friendly. We met a really cool family from Jerusalem.  Savannah enjoyed playing with their three girls. I've never considered visiting Israel until speaking with them. They told us how Isrealis are some of the nicest people in the world, the country is beautiful and the food is amazing. Maybe one day we'll visit.

Getting to the actual cruise ship got tricky between all our luggage and the logistics. The boat was located in Civitavecchia, Italy (about an hour outside of Rome). By the time we had actually gotten to the boat we had taken every single mode of transportation possible. From our home in Wiesbaden, we drove to the airport in our car. Then we got a plane to Rome. From the Rome airport we took a bus to the train station in the city of Rome. When boarding the train Savannah and I almost got left! We were the only ones left outside of the train door and the door was closing so Rocky and Tia were holding the doors back yelling, and I was frantic while holding Savannah. The Italians were yelling at us. It was a total debocale. Rocky pulled Savannah and I up to the train and the doors opened. Once on the train, a friendly Italian man told us everyone was trying to tell us the doors would open back up....the train didn't ACTUALLY leave for another 15 minutes!!! Now on the train, we got off in Civitavecchia, and took another bus to our boat! That is five different transfers! You could of course taken a private car directly from the Rome airport for 160 Euro vs 4 Euro for the train/bus but what fun would that be, right??? ;)

Our favorite city was Cannes, France. While there we took a boat to the island of Sainte-Marguerite known for its natural beauty and the movie based on a true story called 'Man in the Iron Mask". Barcelona is HUGE, way to big to conquer all in one day. We tried to visit the Picasso museum but the line was a mile long. Instead we found an authentic restaurant and drank the best Sangria of our lives. Mallorca was incredible and we spent the day at the beach. We might visit Mallorca again for vacation because there are so many beautiful places to relax and enjoy there. We spent an extra night and day in Rome before heading home. I absolutely loved Rome. It was rich with history, beauty and culture. We will definitely go back to Rome!

These are all the cities we visited. Everyday we were in a new place....it was awesome and exhausting! :) I'm very happy we went because we would have never visited all of these places. Each city had tons of history.  We can now say that we have sailed the French Riveria; seen Christopher Columbus's house in Genoa; visited Napoleon's native city in Ajaccio; walked the famous red carpet in Cannes; explored the Olympic stadium in Barcelona and toured the Colosseum in Rome.

The cruise ship was great too, everyone always remembered our names especially Savannah's! Highly recommend this trip and the ship!
